VP – Sports Broadcasting & Consulting
Josh joined IF after graduating from Amherst College in May 2005. After a summer internship, Josh was offered a full time position with IF as Director of Communications/Marketing. In his current role, Josh represents a myriad of folks in the ever-changing media industry.
Whether it’s a former athlete, sports anchor/reporter, play-by-play voice, blogger, or coach, Josh has a qualitatively growing client base, aligning himself with those who share his long-term vision. In addition, Josh is always looking for marketing opportunities for IF’s clients on the national and local level, working with corporate clients seeking out speaking engagements, appearances, and endorsement deals.
A devout fan of our nation’s pastime and dreaming of one day becoming a major league shortstop, Josh was lucky enough to grow up in the era of the mid-late 90s Yankees. He had his idol in Derek Jeter and parlayed his loved into a four-year career at Amherst College. Josh finished his career as the model of baseball consistency with a .300 average. As a senior he was named captain and selected to the 2005 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team, as Amherst won its second straight NESCAC championship. In his last ever at bat, he singled to left field at dreaded Fenway Park as a member of the Division II/III team in the New England College Baseball All-Star Game.
At Amherst, Josh majored in Law, Jurisprudence & Social Thought; attempting to prove that sports is a microcosm of life, his final research paper focused on the idea of sports as the present day ambassador of a country’s nationalism. Josh worked with various on-campus organizations as well, including Athletes in Action, which met monthly to participate in community service projects. When the harsh realization came that he wouldn’t be manning a major league infield, he found a “field” in which he could combine his keen sports knowledge, enthusiasm and work ethic: sports management & marketing.
Josh gained valuable experience in the summer of ’04 when he interned for the New Jersey Jackals of the Northern League. With the Jackals, Josh worked with the Front Office brainstorming and implementing innovative on/off the field promotions. He loves the fast pace and challenging environment at IF and thoroughly enjoys researching and networking to foster opportunities for its clientele. A committed student of the “IF” poem, Josh tries to adhere to its mantra with every move he makes.
Along with the Yankees, Josh ardently follows Notre Dame sports and the New Jersey Nets. He resides in Bergen County, New Jersey.
