Gideon Cohen

In May 2005, Gideon returned to IF, the birthplace of his professional career. In his role as Director, Broadcasting and Marketing, Gideon oversees all areas of IF's Sports Division, including current and retired athletes, coaches and on-air sports personalities. Between stints at If, Gideon served as the Head of On-Air Talent for College Sports Television (CSTV), where he was responsible for scouting, recruiting and signing broadcasters for the upstart network. As the lead talent executive, he consumated deals for more than one-hundred broadcasters, athletes and coaches, such as former North Carolina Basketball Head Coach Matt Doherty, former Women’s Basketball Star Rebecca Lobo, and Kenny Albert, Play-by-Play Voice for FOX Sports. Several of the broadcasters that Gideon initially signed and worked with have since ascended to network positions, including CBS Sports Basketball Analyst Seth Davis, ABC College Football Analyst Aaron Taylor and ESPN Baseball Analyst Steve Phillips. From 2000-2003, Gideon served as IF's Director of Broadcasting, managing the careers of sports and news media personalities, negotiating contracts with media outlets such as ESPN, Fox Sports Net, WFAN and MSG Network. His specialty areas included local and national sports anchors, NBA team play-by-play broadcasters and analysts, and media training for retired athletes. Gideon was also previously the Director of Broadcasting for the New Jersey firm, Maxximum Marketing, where he created and developed a broadcasting division, and handled entertainment, literary and appearance contracts for Maxximum's clients, including celebrities, coaches and athletes. A native of Scarsdale, New York, Gideon holds a Television, Radio and Film degree from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications.
