Lisa Hernandez is the main co-anchor at KHOU in Houston. Lisa was born and raised in Indio, California, just east of Palm Springs. She made the move to Los Angeles as a freshman at UCLA. She freelanced for the L.A. Times while earning a political science degree, and turned her focus toward broadcast news upon graduating in 2001. Lisa began her TV news career as a producer for KESQ in Palm Springs. She then accepted a position at News 14 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lisa worked as a liaison between the station and several Spanish-speaking media outlets to report on issues affecting local immigrants in the Carolinas. She returned home to join ABC7 in 2004 prior to her current role in Houston. Lisa is an avid runner and has participated in several major marathons. She is very involved in station community efforts, participating at many community events.
